Second Annual Meeting of the INTER-MICRO Project

Almost 100 project members participated in the scientific and social activities of the project retreat in Liblice, which provided updates on scientific collaborations, available infrastructure, further opportunities, and publication highlights, and also allowed team members to socialize during a pétanque tournament in the castle park.

As part of the program, there was also a student competition for the best poster and best presentation. The Best Poster Award went to Anna Michl (Advancing Gut Microbiome Metabolomics: A Derivatization-Based Approach), with other outstanding contributions by Vasilii Shapkin (ALFI: A global database of alien fungal introductions) and Suada Dukaj (Engineering Biosimilar Mucus: Integrating Composition, Rheology and Bioprinting for In Vitro Barrier Model). The Best Presentation Award was given to Denisa Vondrová.

In the traditional pétanque tournament, the winning team was Samra Ahmed and Sudhanshu Shekhar, followed by Ivana Malcová, Lucie Petrásková, and Michal Kraus, and in third place Veronika Motúzová, Maliha Rizwan, and Aleš Ulrych. The team of Tomáš Pěnek and Halil Solak also gave a strong performance.
